First you sign up to what is called a "hosting site". The most prefered host is a free one seeing as not everyone is able to pay for a host. When you login to your free host look for the word "Upload" in their navigational bar, should take you to another page which will show a browse bar that will allow you to browse through your files. Select the files you need to upload and click "Upload".

No, you will have to use mp3 files for the flash player. You can rip music from your CD's onto your Windows Media Player and convert them to mp3 format. Right click on your WMP and choose Tools / Options... / Click the "Rip Music" tab / Format: mp3. You can also download this free mp3 converter.

Click "File" on Notepad, for File name type in mp3playlist.xml or mp3playlist.xspf (XSPF Only: depends on if you want a random start option or not, end the file name in .xspf for random start). For Save as type choose All files and for Encoding choose UTF-8. view example.

Check all your codes first, make sure the xml code looks similar to the one in the example from the instructions. Test your urls, make sure each url for your files end in its proper file format

example:

mp3 urls should end in .mp3: http://myfilehost.com/12345/songtitle.mp3

swf urls should end in .swf: http://myfilehost.com/12345/playerskin.swf

xml/xspf urls should end in either .xml or .xspf depending on how you saved the file.

Finally copy and paste your file url's into your web browser and click Go! If you get any errors or file not found messages then the problem may be with your host, in any case use an alternate host.

In the embed code look for this string: &autoplay=true

Replace it with: &autoload=true

If you have &randomstart=true in the embed code then you will need to take that out so that the player will only load and not start.

Sure can.. in the embed code look for this string: info_button_text=Lyrics. Just change the word Lyrics to anything you want.

The three most popular XSPF sizes are the regular sized XSPF Player, The Slim XSPF Player and The Playlist Only XSPF Player. The different sizes for these player are accomplished by changing the height and widht in the embed code. You can play around with the height and width in the embed code to achieve the specific dimensions you're looking for.

As for the Jeroen Player I do not recommend altering the width and height in the embed code, doing so may distort the players look/shape. If you would like to request a Jeroen Player with certain dimensions then go here

There are no tutorials that I know of but you can find the fla file for the xspf player here and the fla for the jeroen player here. You will need a flash editing program like Flash 8/Flash 8 PRO and a lot of patience when editing the the jeroen/xspf players fla file.

I should also note that in order to accomplish a random function in the XSPF Player you will have to edit the action script for it, all the xspf players I have customized already have the action script edited. If you are going to customize your own skins and want that function as well then read this tutorial.

If you're operating Windows on your computer then all you have to do is right click and choose "Extract All". The extraction wizard will pop up and guide you through the process. A second folder will be extracted which will contain your swf file.

This usually happens when either the bitrate is higher than or lower than 128kbps. For each mp3 you use you should make sure that they're set at 128kbps. You can try using a free mp3 converter to get them at that desired bitrate.

This will often happen when you have a code in your style sheets that effects embedded objects. When you place a code such as hiding the music player or adjusting the height/width for embedded objects such as music vids then that code will often times effect the music players since they too are embedded objects. Simple solution for this is remove the code causing the problem.
